So what do audio geeks mean by the terms: dynamic processing, compression, equalization, shelving, Q, and more? The tutorial section at the back of the Presonus User Manual for their 16.4.2 digital mixing console does an incredible job of explaining all of these advanced concepts.

Even though they have gladly given me permission to excerpt those sections and run them as stand alone articles, I have so far been hindered in my attempts due to some PDF protections and my lack of the right hack software.

In the meantime, I strongly recommend just going to our Users Manuals section and opening up the Presonus manual. Near the back, in section 5, you will find their excellent tutorials. Even if you never plan on using a Presonus right away, do yourself the favor of reading these explanations.
