Some students just do not get it. Before you turn in your projects, take a moment and double check.
Is the package complete? Did you include a log sheet/index of WHAT IS ON THE DISK that you are turning in? A sound report is a history of every take recorded during the session, but a log sheet/index shows only what is on the disk you are turning in.
Did you do a Header ID file? Did you specify the correct timecode, or indicate if the project does not have timecode? Reference tone is part of the header. Room tone is part of Take 1.
Do the submitted materials reflect your best and most professional image? If the paperwork is sloppy, then re-copy it! If the Header ID is no good, then do it over.
Do your takes sound like a real movie or TV show, or a badly produced student fiasco on YouTube? All of the dialog MUST be crisp and clear.... or re-shoot it. You have total control of these projects, so no excuse for boom mics being too high, actors too spread out, and too much echo. Adjust the shot so that you can make it work and deliver pristine audio!
Did you play back your project before turning it in? Does the DVD play correctly? Does it look decent, and sound great? Or is it a piece of ().
This is not an agricultural class, so presenting me with a sample of amateur manure will not get you a good grade!
You want to work in this industry? Think PROFESSIONAL. Put some care into your paper presentation, your packaging, and the QUALITY of what you turn in.
