NO CLASS.

Nov 3 is Film Option Advising. Since the first session starts at 09:30, even if we met at 08:30 we would have less than 40 minutes -- so it is not worth it. See you all at Advising.

Nov 10 is Veterans Day, so no classes for Veterans and those who support our Veterans. For those who do not wish to respect the sacrifices of Vets, then please show up and sit in the hallway for 5 hours.

To everyone.... use these two Fridays to work on your Projects! The semester is more than half over. So far, no one has even turned in Project One.

I received the contact mic sample that we spoke about, and so far it works amazingly well. It is a Phantom powered, XLR wired, piezo electric metal plate that you tape to a hard surface (such as stagefloor or basketball court). It will only hear sounds that vibrate through the floor surface, like footsteps, ball dribbling, dance taps). It does not hear ambient noises such as dialogue, playback music, etc. So it will give you a crisp SFX track for sportscasting, stage dance, and similar. Let me know if you are working on a project where this would be useful.... I will arrange for you to borrow it.
