I have compiled the initial test scores and can now report the curve.... that means that the traditional numerical equivalent of the letter grade will be used to compute your course grade (as opposed to the actual numerical score of the test paper). For example, a B+ is computed as 88 (even though you may have only earned 70-ish on the test).

Congrats to 6 students on earning a "hole in one" with raw scores of 90 and better! They have aced the course (assuming that they have completed their projects with C or better)

A = 98, 98, 92, 92, 90, 90
A-minus = 84, 82, 80
B+ = 78, 78, 76, 76, 76, 76
B-minus = 66, 64
C-minus = 52
??? = 38, 38

Students with less than a B+ are encouraged to re-take the test next week. Note that re-takes cannot earn higher than a B+ (so if you already earned a B+ there is nothing to be gained by taking the test again).

Remember that these letter grades apply to the FINAL. Your course grade will still be determined by your total grade points including quizzes, projects, and this "major test".

Testing next Friday will be from 8:30 to 10:30am. You may retake tests or quizzes. Show up late if you want, but all testing STOPS at 10:30 sharp.

At 10:45 I will offer a seminar on Getting Started in the Industry which will cover resumes and tips for finding first employment. Attendance is optional. The seminar is open to all students, so feel free to invite your friends.
