Okay, I've been riddled with questions about the picture that I am using as my avatar.
"Are you Amish? Are you a farmer?"
No, I am a cowboy. What you see if the upper portion of one of my period correct western garbs that I wear when I participate in the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. No, it is not a quick draw contest.
Instead, we compete (in costume, and with period correct firearms) shooting live ammo against steel targets. Points are based on elapsed time and total misses or penalties. Each shooter uses a lever action rifle, 12ga shotgun (side-by-side coach gun or early pump), and two six-gun revolvers.
