Here is a quickie instruction (reminder) sheet for the PMD660. It does not replace reading the original manual; but will serve as a brief reminder of essential functions after the user has studied the manual at least once.
PMD660 Quick Instructions
To FORMAT a CF card:
1. While in STOP, hold SHIFT then push the MENU/STORE button. “Trk Erase” will appear in the display.
2. Push the << or >> button until FORMAT is displayed. Press ENTER, then confirm with ENTER.
To connect via USB:
1. Connect USB cable to computer.
2. From power off, hold COPY/USB button while turning on the power switch.
Presets:
1. With unit at STOP, press MENU/STORE button.
2. Push << or >> button to tab through the sub menu display.
3. When the desired selection is displayed, press ENTER to choose it.
4. Repeat steps as necessary.
5. When finished, press MENU/STORE button to save all changes.
Suggestions:
1. Preset 1 = line input, PCM-48k, stereo, manual level. For input from a mixer.
2. Preset 2 = mic input, PCM-48k, stereo, manual level. For direct input from mics.
3. Preset 3 = mic input, MP3-44.1k, mono, manual level. For direct input from one mic, when it is essential to record as much time as possible on a single card. Elongated documentary mode.
